Announcing our 5am Warrior, Anne! She has been with us for only a few months, and her attitude and smile is contagious. She represents herself in a way that touches everyone she meets at the box.

We are thankful to have you as a member at JCCF! Introducing….

Name: Anne Hopper

Age: 54 years old

Occupation: Registered nurse – Operating room

Family: I have 2 sons and 1 daughter, all grown and gone. I share a home with my mother and some furry four footed companions.

I started CrossFit @JCCF in January 2018. I had missed the new comers class in December after learning about it from a friend at work, Aaron Atwood. He had such great energy and enthusiasm about the practical and functionality of the movements used.

My favorite lift so far is the bench press.

Favorite workout: anything with kettle bells!

Least favorite: “Sally up/Sally down” from last week.

Favorite meal: Anything that falls into the breakfast for supper category

Fav beverage: coffee , always coffee ️

Funniest memory at the box: Aaron muttering to me as I arrived at 5am class-“ you look like a homeless person”

I attend the 5am class and am very fond of my classmates, we wake up slowly , but when we do…always something funny going on.

My wallpaper is a pic of Jaq, my little Shih tzu /Maltese buddy.

I was impressed that JCCF supported a community need for the last Friday Night Event .

My all-time favorite candy is Reese’s peanut butter cups.

Many people I’m around are surprised to learn that I love to create quilts.

If I came into $10,000, I would hire a personal stylist/ shopper for a whole new wardrobe.  I love fashion but hate to shop!

If I could be any animal in the world, given the choice, I would choose to be a majestic, powerful flying bird. An eagle perhaps? Or a hawk….I’m envious of how they ride the wind currents, free to swoop and dive and rise again. Just imagine the view!

I started CrossFit to build and maintain strength, endurance and hopefully prevent any possible work injuries related to lifting, pushing, pulling heavy objects, etc. I continue to be amazed at how much my body has changed and how good it feels. I have improved posture, coordination, balance, muscle tone, strength, and endurance. Friends often comment that I carry myself differently now. This has proved to be a great asset and a great investment. The coaches are knowledgeable, professional and very approachable. My greatest accomplishment with this so far, is learning to believe in myself/ my body’s abilities.

To any of you that are new to CrossFit, seek out advice from the coaches and have fun!

My 6 month goal – 8 -12 inch box jump.

My 1 year goal- chin up.

See you in the “Box”!!
