This guy. Father and Husband! I still remember meeting you that one Saturday morning 9am class, trying out your first CrossFit class. You said you were looking for something different. You wanted something new that would push you like never before. You had determination on your face, and it was inspiring. You always seemed to be pretty quiet at first, but slowly have grown out of you shell and your drive in the daily workouts are epic.

Funniest memory at the box: We were doing lunges or squats and my shorts grabbed onto my leg muscle and it ripped the back of my shorts out. I had to tie my shirt around my waist so I could keep going. It was the only time I went shirtless.
Tell us some about your journey, greatest accomplishments. What makes you keep coming back?: My greatest accomplishments are losing 55 pounds and being able to complete the MR340 and also running 4 5Ks and taking 1st place in my age group in every one. I started CrossFit because I wanted to lose weight and make a lifestyle change and I stuck with it because I could see the results and muscle definition. I look forward to the daily routine and feel more accomplished after the morning workout. I have more energy throughout the days when I work out first thing in the morning. I no longer have heartburn or snore, and I have a much healthier lifestyle.
What was your experience of the boat race like? The boat race was very intense and very long. It was about the hottest week of the year and we were functioning on no sleep. It was very hard to get back into the boat after each stop and to make yourself keep going. It is the longest continuing paddling race and I had worked hard to prepare for it and I wanted to finish it. It was really neat to see that many miles of the Missouri River after living near it all my life and how many people can say they canoed from Kansas City to St. Louis in under 70 hours?
If you could give any advice for a person new to CrossFit, what would it be?: Don’t give up, keep trying and you will see and feel the difference it will make in your everyday life
Please list two future goals for 6 months and One year: to be able to do Muscle ups/ handstand pushup/ double under

Anything else you wish to share that your heart desires: I want to thank the coaches and all the other CrossFit members for taking the time to show us the correct way to do the exercises and for encouraging me to keep going.
