Congratulations to our long time member Kristen Bexten! Teacher by day, amazing Wonder Woman by night or noon class! Life is too short to spend it stressed out and unhappy.  Get off the hamster wheel of stress and negativity and choose to be at PEACE so that you can LIVE rather than just survive.  CrossFit is a great way to begin that process! ~ Kristen Bexten

Don’t let the number of her age fool you! She will leave you in your tracks on our sprints and runs! She can squat like a boss. And I will never forget the day I watched her put 100lbs overhead in a strength session! Her jumping up and down and celebration of PRS are one of our all time favorites. Her dance moves to the sound track of Jock Jams are priceless. We are blessed to have you as part of our community Kristen. Thank you and cheers to many more years of fitness! Introducing:

Name: Kristen Bexten

Age: 44

Family: Just me!

How long have you been CrossFitting?: Since November 2013

What time do you come to WOD normally? Summertime: Noon.  During the school year: 5:30 pm

Favorite Lift: Back and Front Squat. Favorite Met Con/Cardio: Running.  Favorite Gymnastic/Body weight Movement: Burpees! ( We think she may be sick.)

Favorite Shoe to WOD in: Reebok CrossFit Nanos

Favorite Meal: Ice Cream. (IceCream is a meal made up of some protein, fat and carbs. Haha.)

Favorite Beverage: Water and Hard cider – not at the same time.  And dark chocolate with white wine!

Funniest memory at the box: Launching myself onto Coach Lacey’s back for the person carry in a WOD and feeling about as graceful as an elephant!  Fortunately she is super strong!!

Tell us some about your journey:

I began a life transforming journey in 2010 when I started letting go of a lot of negative beliefs about myself.  This led to a weight loss journey in 2011 where I lost a ton (almost!) of weight.  I started doing a lot of biking, and read that doing CrossFit could help make you a stronger cyclist.  Once I started, I realized that CrossFit was a perfect fit for me – both in making me fit and fitting with my personality.  🙂

If you could give any advice for a person new to CrossFit, what would it be?:

Injuries may occur, but if you look at it as new fitness information rather than as a setback, and listen to your body, you will learn something about yourself AND get stronger!

“You are with me always, and everything I have is yours!”  Lk 15:31

And… (THIS QUOTE IS AWESOME.)

“Would I rather be feared or loved? Easy, both. I want people to be afraid of how much they love me.” – Michael Scott
