Hey everyone, we’ve got an important announcement regarding membership rates. As you know, we are going to be providing you with a new location with a lot more space, better parking and male and female bathrooms (just for you Tiff). It has always been our goal to not increase our rates for current members. I’ll show you the numbers in just a second, and you’ll see that we are really maintaining the spirit of that goal. Unlike our fearless leaders in Washington, I’m a big fan of transparency (shoot, I promised myself I wouldn’t get political), so I want to show you exactly where your money is going. The Dalai Lama said “A lack of transparency results in distrust and a deep sense of insecurity.” Without further ado, here’s what is happening. Everyone will see a little increase in their out of pocket expenses, due to us moving into the city limits. Instead of a 5.725% tax rate, we’ll be at 7.725%. Along with the new tax rate, we’ll be rounding the number off, and just charge a flat rate with the tax included.
Individual Membership
Old rate $89 – with old tax $94.10 – with new tax $95.88 – new flat rate $95.
Couples Membership
Old rate $149 – with old tax $157.53 – with new tax $160.51 – new flat rate $160.
Discounted Individual
Old rate $69 – with old tax $72.95 – with new tax – $74.33 – new flat rate $75.
Discounted Couples
Old rate $129 – with old tax $136.38 – with new tax $138.97 – new flat rate $140.
That might be more information than some people want, but I just want to be up front, and show you that we are not really getting any more $ out of you people. Most people said they’d prefer a location inside the city, and this is what it costs. This way we can take advantage of the world class personnel of the Jefferson City Fire Department, if the need ever arises.
You may have noticed that the standard rate members are actually getting a little discount, and the discounted members are paying a few cents more. That’s just the way the numbers lined up. This also maintains a $20 difference between the two. If you still think that’s not fair, let me know ASAP and I’ll switch you over to the standard rate, so you can get those savings. J Please note that these rates are still about 25% cheaper than the other CrossFit gyms in our area.
These new rates will take effect on January 1, 2014. We will cover the additional sales tax for December. Lastly, we will be making another announcement in the future about the rates for new members. The rates for people joining the JCCF Nation after December 31 will be just slightly higher. We don’t have them figured out yet, so please no questions!
